Is the blogosphere in a slump?
I’ve noticed it - have you? There seems to be a certain lack of excitement overall right now. Yeah, there are some highlights here and there as events happen, and so on. But from my perspective, the last month has been quite a bit light on fresh conversations. Even right now, a number of discussions are just on blogging, maintaining momentum, and making the most efficient use of advertiseing. Neat stuff to be sure, and I’m learning a lot… but where is the excitement, the passion, the inspiration that seemed to be abundant just a few months ago?
Maybe its just the advent of spring in the northern hemisphere - more people getting out enjoying the outdoors, or getting started on spring/summer vacations, etc…
I guess I’m just curious if anyone else is noticing the same thing, or if I’m just in a ‘funk’ right now.

Well Easton, you are absolutely on-target about the duplication and rehashed content. It really is disappointing that there are so many sites that post the same news and don’t add to it.
I do post links to news bits, but I try to put some of my spin or perspective on it. Not sure if I succeed at that, but I try. I do enjoy the BussinessBlogWire though, I’ve been getting a bit of inspiration from the topics there - good work!
Thanks, Rick. I appreciate that! I also try to add my own couple of cents to whatever news I report on.
I really am itching to integrate coComment into my blog (and all the rest of the KMM blogs for that matter). Great job doing that! I am submitting this comment with the extension disabled to pretend I’m a non-coCo user, but the coComment box still appears - which is a great thing. I assume you are thus able to use coCo to track all comments at your site?
Easton, I believe that once you are logged in during a browser session, the scripts provided on the “Integrate” page on the coCo website (that I’ve embedded on my comment pages) automatically recognizes the user.
The integration only catches coCo users though - not all comments of a post. Not sure if that is possible right now. It does make it easier to use coCo though, and if you aren’t logged into coCo, you can click on the logo above and it will start the comment capture tool.
I’ll offer up whatever assistance that may be helpful, though I’m just getting up to speed on WordPress and the PHP scripts it uses.

Rick, I haven’t felt the funk myself - I’m actually just starting to enjoy being out of grad school and gearing up to post more frequently. There certainly is a lot of duplicated, tired, rehashed content out there, though!
